NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory crew can be seen celebrating with great joy the landing of their rover which they called Curiosity. Curiosity is a rover the size of a compact car built as a traveling laboratory with technology costing over $2.5 billion. The rover landed Sunday night on the planet Mars after a eight month 352 million mile journey . Traveling to Mars has fascinated scientists and society for decades. this is because Mars is said to be the next planet most suitable for life besides earth. This new extra terrestrial exploration comes during a time of many 2012 conspiracy theories. Rumors had it that in 2012 , the earth is would be nearing the end and faced destruction. Is this discovery just a coincidence of timing or is this just on time to aid the theories that life on earth will be transported to Mars in the event of destruction. this goes along with ideas of Global warming, changing weather, and tragic events.
