The Real America: The Scheme of Things

True Thoughts of a College Student: Working Vs. Education

It's Funny. Throughout life in America we're sent through a list of tasks in order to achieve a goal

To work legally, You must be 14.

To get in Places , You must be 18.

You turn 18, now you must be 21.

To rent a Car, you must be 25??

Seriously. The most famous system of them all is

"To Get a Job, you must be educated" America is a strange place because it is the only place where low lives can get more respect than the determined individual with goals.  Is it really better to go to school and then get a job? As a student Its difficult keeping that goal of success in mind when America have contradicting systems that are in affect.

America states that it is better to get educated before entering the job market today.  However that same friend in high school goes straight into the work force making $20.  And then you the student go into a university and get in debt $20,000 each year plus interest. Only to graduate 4 to 5 years later and may not even be able to find a job in your direct field.  Lets say you do get the dream job and your making $45/hr. Almost half of your check will be given directly to Student Loans for approximately 10-20 years. By now that friend who've been working since day 1, successfully runs his own small business in the neighborhood you grew up in. But this is America right? Equal Opportunity and Justice for all? I think not.

Why is it that achieving a positive goal is made so difficult to accomplish within the U.S but easy for others who who simply know the right people. As students, we're sent through a list of requirements and face so many checks and balances.  A lot of students are discouraged in the process of achieving a degree for reasons such as finances, circumstances, education budget cuts,  uncontrollable debt and even lack of housing. This is interesting because half of land owners may not  have a degree but a mere certificate in reality.  Yet they charge and  make crazy profits off the students. If this is America, liberty in the pursuit of happiness. Why is it so difficult for one to achieve their goal. In college why is it that one who wants to be Communication Major must take Chemistry? Why must a business major take a second level course in Biology?  Why must a Psych Major endure a class in Theatre?  If these are not the talents of the student, of course grades will reflect it. Some things simply stand in the way of people and their degree . Wastes of time, effort, and money.

The problem in America. Its interesting that America states we have to get ourselves a degree, we then get in debt, and they keep on rolling. But lets take an entertainer situation. These are the people who influence society the most. Yet there is no requirement for them to obtain a degree.  America says that it encourages education so that each class may have opportunity to move forward.  But if a person starts in the lower class, how can he advance to the middle class. By the time he enters the working field he has so much debt piled up. Its like working to keep your head above water.  Yet a rapper/entertainer simultaneously is encouraging the rest of the lower class to drop out and do as they want.  Theres nothing being done. The people in the lower class with goals find their dreams getting differed. And the others in the lower class find themselves in the cycle of crime, low income, and victims of violence.  All because someone with no degree influences the up and coming generations. These are the depressors of the economy yet America supports them with open arms.  They have less taxes, more money, and oh... most have no degree. They have less discouragement than a student doing what he is taught they should do. America publicizes them and the lower class supports them. The Rich get richer. The poor remain poor. That is the scheme of America.

These are the People America Pave the easy path for..
